If you're not using a remote monitoring system with logged historical data for your coolers and freezers, you're missing out on a lot. Remote automated monitorig records temperature data with greater frequency, accuracy and consistency than manual collection and digitally stores the data. Using AI or traditional software that data becomes a powerful tool in monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing your equipment so a blip doesn't morph into an emergency.

Historical data tells you a lot about what goes on behind your cooler and freezer doors.

  • Scheduled defrost cycles become visible - Often not thought about, defrost cycles can have an impact on the lifespan of a cooler/freezer and indicate developing issues. Coolers/freezers that struggle to recover from defrosting or cycles that run too long, too often or irregularly indicate setting adjustments or maintenance may be needed to reduce stress on the equipment. Logged data combined with AI or graphing tools can make defrost cycles easy to identify and analyze.

  • Improper temperature settings are easily spotted - Data logging provides frequent, consistently recorded data that doesn't rely on an employee's availability or memory.  Temperature graphs can expose setting issues not always obvious from manual logs and that avoids product loss and potential contamination.

  • Developing equipment failures can be targeted - Gradually increasing temperatures may not be easy to spot on a manual log but graph consistently gathered data and a slow temperature climb may reveal itself allowing maintenance to be ordered before total failure requires emergency repair.

  • Power interruptions to equipment can be spotted - Team members may be cutting power and forgetting to reset it during truck deliveries, cleaning, morning pulls or evening restocking leading to product loss or contamination.  Logged data makes these events easy to find.

  • Verify if repairs are effective and holding - Just because a repair was made doesn't mean it fully resolved the problem.  Logged data can help track how equipment performs (or doesn't) following a repair allowing you to arrange for additional tech visits or equipment replacement before it quits working altogether.

Manual temperature readings on a log sheet may satisfy the regulatory agencies but they shouldn't satisfy you. Want to talk about how a remote monitor system can help you save time, man hours and costly repairs. Call us to schedule a 15 call with a Gamut Expert.
